Brie Pickens & Chris Huyck were married September 25, 2010 at Columbia College Chapel.
Brie carried an all white bouquet with hydrangeas, orchids and a little pop of blue. Her Bridesmaids carried green hydrangeas with white orchids. Her altar pieces were made of green hydrangeas, bells of ireland, white asiatic lilies, white stock, white snapdragons, and blue delphinium whereas the family rows were marked by green hydrangea kissing balls( Pomadors).
The reception was at the always beautiful 701 Whaley where Chris with Gourmet-to-Go provided the eclectic mix of tapis style food.
The show piece buffet arrangement was built on site around one of the grand columns in the center of the food area. Built 12 feet up with large bamboo as the base and the 7 foot across arrangement at the top of white lilies, green hydrangeas, tie leaves, green roses, green amaranthus and green orchids was a real show stopper!
Blue fabric draped the stairs entrance with a floral accent made of white snapdragons, green hydrangeas, white stock and blue delphinium. The combination of hi and low tables made of green hydrangeas, green roses, white lilies, blue delphinium, white snapdragons, white stock and curly willow tips, really finished the look.
Millie Fort perpared her beautiful cake and it sat on a glass cake stand, bottom lit with floral accents and Craig Hewitt Photography captured the moments and memories.
Beautiful Wedding at Columbia Marroit & Columbia Museum of Art
Mozeltoff !! And Congratulations to Sarah Strauss & Brian Levin on thier recent marriage !! The elegant evening began at the beautiful Columbia Marriot for the ceremony. Brandt Hulteen and rest of his wonderful staff did a great job of making the Hotel the perfect setting for the traditional Jewish nuptials. The Chuppah was the focal point and it was stunning !! We used white calla lilies, lilies, roses, stock, hydrangea and snapdragons, curly willow, and for a clean splash of color and fragrance …lavender stock. White pipe and drape and uplights (by Displays Unlimited)provided just the right accent… It was a show stopper ! Sarah carried a stunning bouquet of all white mini callas and her bridesmaids carried full-sized callas cut short…a beautifully elegant choice ! Bill Grant of of Grant Digital Media captured every moment.
After the wedding, it was on to a lavish reception across the street at the always lovely Columbia Museum of Art. Chris Carson & her team of professionals had the setting immaculate. Jack Brantley from Aberdeen Catering provided his usual excellent fare and classic antique diner ware including black pin-tuck linens (by Palmetto Party Rentals) and black Chiavari chairs. Since Sarah loves Calla Lilies, Sarah got Calla Lilies !! EVERYWHERE ! From dramatically tall table centerpieces to the detail of stair handrails…even a TWELVE FOOT TALL Calla Lilly accent piece….next to the new blown glass Chandelier ….talk about Dramatic !! Even the Cake (Parkland Cakes, so you know it was great !) Had mini callas on it …Beautiful.

We had a BEAUTIFUL wedding at St Peters Catholic Church and reception at the Columbia Convention Center for Kristen Retallick and Matthew Irwin (Both families are Some of the nicest people in the world !)
Kristen chose an all white bouquet including dahlias, orchids, roses, Calla lillies, Stepanotis and fresia. Her Bridesmaids white Hydrangea, roses, dahlias, callas and accented with a dark blue berry. St Peters being such a stunningly beautiful setting (and blessed by the Pope in the 1980′s), simple and elegant was the rule for the cermony.
The reception was gorgeous ! Melanie Murphy (By Invitation Only) and The Retallick’s did an amazing job planning and executing a beautiful event. Clark Berry Photography and Absolute Productions and Media, always fantastic to work with, were intrusted to capture the memories.
What a great event for the family and friends…and I heard they partied like Rock Stars !!
